Default Tailgate Plugs

When I installed my new rear bumper / tire carrier I no longer needed the cable for the third brake light or the stock tire bumpers. I wanted to remove them because I don't like the way they looked just sitting there doing nothing.
The two tire bumpers when removed leave two 1/2" holes and the third brake light cable grommet leaves a 1" hole.

I found the perfect cheap fix. Sheet metal hole plugs. They snap right in and a little RTV seals them right up.

Here are some before and after pictures. They're not very good since I took them at night with a flash but you get the idea.

I had to buy these in packages of 100 each so I have lots left over. If anyone would like some I'll sell them to you for the price of postage.

Good idea.
Where did you get them?
And what's not so good about the pictures? They look fine to me.

I found them online. Northeast Fastener Co. Inc.
They are made for Automotive applications. They are polyethylene.
If you need some just shoot me a PM so you don't have to buy in quantity.

Default Tailgate Plugs

I have tailgate plugs if anyone wants them. When you remove the spare tire carrier and bump stops you are left with one 1" and two 1/2" holes. The plugs are just like the one's pictured in this thread. Flush mounted plugs. Just PM me.

Yes they do. Truth be told I do have a very limited amount left but I save them for locals. I was mailing them out in padded mailers and it cost more for the envelope and postage. LOL

Any hardware stores that have nuts and bolts have rubber plugs. I have had them in for a year no issues
