Thumbs up Transmission cable fix instead of paying $ 125.00 for new cable

Here's the deal you go out to your jeep and won't start or you can't get it to shift in gear when you move your atm into drive or reverse whatever. Guess what your transmission cable bushing broke. Get it towed too dealer or fix your self ? It's a easy fix. The dealer wants to sell you a knew cable for $125.00 that is if it's the bushing inside at the shifter they say you can't get just the bushing. Well here's a secret they don't want you to know. The same bushing that connects cable to transmission underneath and is the same bushing for the transfers case cable is also the same bushing for up top . this one bushing that they carry cost $3.24 . some will say it doseant work wrong it does and is the same one from factory. You just put a little grease on it and use a pair of channel locks to pop it I. The cable eye , then snap out on the post. If your smart go too dealer and buy a few spares to keep in. Glove box. And a flat head screw driver too pop up Center console top. And a pair of channel locks. In 4 min. Your fixed and on you're way. No tow bill.

When my T-case shift bushing broke, it didn't take long to realize how stupid I was for not already having spares with me. Now I carry two extra with me
