Did this last weekend and much easier then I expected, he hard part was getting to a place to install the switches, I choose to mount them where wrangled put his, just not easy to get to. I did have an issue with the switches, the recommended hole size made it very hard to get them in and one switch was so squeezed in that it wouldn't function correctly so I just went up a drill size. the write up was very helpful, thanks.

It's not easy because the circuit card inside runs behind the blanks, even if you don't have the heated seats. But it is possible to install the round switches. I did it yesterday.

Edit: Got them all installed and wired up. Heat up fast and hot. I'm ready, news says 1st snow fall is tomorrow.

Completed myself over the weekend on an 09. My tip/trick additions are...

I did not remove the seats. I un clipped the seats on the front, and outside side and was able to lift the upholstery enough to cut the hog rings and slide the pad in. The seat back I just un clipped the bottom and slid the pad in that way. The hardest part of doing it this way is getting the consol apart since the screws are beside the seat.

I mounted the switches on the front of the center console right below the hinged door. Only downside is that they face forwards so you wouldn't easily notice the lights.

I wired to the fuse box by running the wire through the firewall on the drivers side where there was an existing grommet. Routed wire across the rear of the engine bay where there was an existing cable run. Used the ground stud right near the fuse box and an add a circuit fuse into the m8 location.

Overall not a bad install thanks to great writeups like this.

Installed mine over the weekend. What a change in the mornings! Actually have to turn them off on my way to work, things get toasty.

Default what a pITA

this was much harder than I thought it would be, the directions aren't real good and where you run the wires is kinda rough. For those of you with the desire to do this install the hot wire on the back of the cigarette lighter has a red stripe and is blue grey . This took me quite a while to just disconnect the cigarette plug because ai had no idea what to pinch and the way it was installed i could see anything , finally done though and I have heat in the drivers seat I didn't realize the I needed to kits because I though it came as a pair. oh well my dog rides shotgun anyway. Wife won't get in the Jeep. so wworks for me.
