Default 14 bolt and HP dana 60 in a JK

Well i told my self i wouldn't swap the axles until she was paid off well guess what!!

Im going to use a HP Dana 60 out of a 79 Ford F350 and a rear Chevy 14 bolt.

Sold both my rubi axles so now shes in the shop on stands patiently awaiting the transplant.

I think it will look good with 40's

Picked up a 14bolt SRW for $180

Time for the pig to loose some weight

Im gonna start ordering parts monday who has the best deal for gears and lockers? I think im just gonna do detroits front and rear

I am going to be converting both axles to 6 lug so i can make use of the 6 on 5.5 beadlocks i have already. It will take some creative machining but i think Butch can do it

I was hoping that the 14 bolt would be wider and give me the space to out board my rear coilovers but it is real close to the same WMS as my dana 44 is 65.5 the 14 bolt i have is 67 wms

14 bolt vs dana 44 pinion

Looks like a great project! Keep us updated on the build. So far so good that Jeep is a Beast.

DAM RIGHT IT WILL LOOK GOOD ON 40'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you cant get the shocks outboard,,, may I suggest taking a look at some of the pics in my album. I (my fabricator) fit King 14" coilovers inside the frame rails by getting rid of the stock muffler, cutting some unnecessary metal in the rear corners of the cross member and frame rails, and cutting a large hole in the rear floor of the cargo area. It worked great! since then I had a cover for the floor fabbed up. You are going pretty hard core,, might as well go all the way!

Wow! that tread on the BFG has HORRIBLE wear or is it for racing? Slick om the inside, luggy on the outside.

My Jeep is going into the shop tomorrow to get a d60 front and a 14 bolt installed also . Going to get King coil overs , PSC hydro , 4 Link front , Deaver leaves in back . You may wonder Why leaf springs in the rear? It's because my Jeep is a 1961 Willys wagon ! Also , could you tell me how to convert from 8 lug to 6 lug ?[IMG][/IMG]
