Default 2012 unlimited rubicon 3.5 lift changing to 4.56

I have a 2012 unlimited rubicon automatic with a 3.5 AEV lift. I changing to 4.56 gears. I was told I might have to change my drive shaft but I won't know until I drive it? Does this make sense? Something to do with shaking.

I'm running 37's on my 2012 Rubi w/2.5" lift and 4:88's with no drive shaft issues.

I have a 2014 with a AEV 3.5 lift running 35's. I had to replace my drive shaft at 35k miles. There was no vibration issues but there was a tear in my driveshaft. I hit about 5 off road trips a year and I felt that I didn't want to be caught out in the trails with a beat up driveshaft. The positive side was when I took it to the dealer they gave me a brand new one I decided to go with a custom Tom Woods driveshaft and I'm going to try and sell this new OEM driveshaft. The angle of a 3.5 lift is to much for that type of driveshaft. If you don't have money to get a new one you could buy the kit for 80 bucks and rebuild it.

That was my measurements for a Tom Woods with a 3.5 lift

Changing gearing has no affect on the driveshaft except it takes a bit of stress off of it.

Gears have nothing to do with it, but If you want to elongate the life of the stock cv driveshaft; Teraflex makes a simple kit to handle the increased angle of a 3.5 lift.
