Default Adding bigger coil springs?

Currently have a 3.5in rock crawler lift kit on my 2012 jku but wanna add 4-4.5in coild to get a little more height. Any issues just adding bigger coils?

More suspension height equals more problems with Carter and driveshaft angles.

Why not go to a body lift?

If you're into extreme wheeling then coilovers may be a better route so you can adjust your ride height a little easier but if you're at that point then you probably wouldn't be asking.

All of that assumes that you're dead set on more lift for your own reasons.

I wouldn't touch a body lift, Ive dealt with those in the past on other vehicles and they look like crap.

Out of curiosity. Why are you wanting to go higher?

Some of the things you will need to look into if you do:
Longer shocks
Longer sway bar links
Re adjusting control arms (if you already have adjustable)
Driveshafts lengths and angles
Drag flip kit, if you don't already have one.

Why are you wanting it higher, and what size tires are you currently running? If you are wanting more clearance, I would cut the fenders or go with aftermarket flats if you haven't done so already. You could also just add some spacers.

I have 35's now and after steel bumpers and winch i have a little sag. Im looking to move up to 37's now and wanna make certain they will clear without cutting fenders or going aftermarket

Clear? I'm assuming you mean rubbing somewhere right? The solution to that is adding bumpstop which is $20 part or free if you make your own. Beats spending a shit ton on new coils, arms, high steer etc. running 37s in 4.5" of lift is a bit goofy unless maybe you keep your stock fenders

I agree if you're talking about 3" lifts I see on YJ but a 1" lift gives you that extra room and you can't even see it.

If you haven't replaced your driveshafts you might want to go ahead and get that lined up. At 3.5" you've reached the point of changing the pinion angle so much that you will rip the boot and the shaft will fail at some point. Going higher is going to increase those odds significantly. I run a 3.5" X-factor kit with 1" Teraflex spacers. Also the 1" spacers wont hurt you in the shock department and they should fix any sag that you may be experiencing due to bumpers and carriers.

I run the Rock Krawler 3.5 springs and a 1.25 Teraflex body lift. You would not likely notice that there is a body lift if you were not specifically looking for it. This was done to allow 37x13.5-18 tires/wheels with factory flares and tubs and 3" bump stops front and rear. I made my own bump stops. I know that there is a lot of body lift hate, but personally I just don't get it. It helps a person get the required clearance without doing body/tub cutting. Some folks do not mind cutting, others (like me) very much mind it. I pretty much love the set-up as I am using it. I use a 28" Fox 2.0 IFP smooth body shock in front, and 25" in rear with EVO Rock Star rear shock mounts. it works very well with the 3" bumps.
