Default Anyone run 35" MT's more than 50 miles everyday?

Looking to finally install my lift and get new wheels/tires. I drive about 60 miles a day. I was looking at duratracs and Nitto trail grapplers. I would get the duratracs but Im worried about the sidewall on these PA rocks when I do my very small amount of offroading. I do love the Nittos but afraid they will be overkill for me. Any suggestions or comments will be appreciated.

I have KM2s so can't speak to the other brands since these are my first set of 35s. My Jeep is a DD and I have no issues with running MTs. I went on vacation a few weeks ago and drove them over 1000 miles in one day loaded down (my wife packs too much stuff!) and they performed perfectly.

So if your asking if MTs are okay as DDs, for me they are. They don't hum until about 45 MPH and they're not too loud.

Do you want to hear tire hum or not? How loud or not loud is subjective. MTs hum and ATs don't. Are you sold on only those two? Check out the Cooper STMAXX. They now offer them in a 315 (35 in metric). Strong side wall and hybrid design.

Default Getting loud

I drove my 2008 Rubicon 2 door well over 50 miles a day on 35" Goodyear Kevlars with no issues other than needing to be balanced almost every rotation (typical Kevlar complaint). I now have slightly smaller (295/70x17)Trail Grapplers on my JKUR that work great although they do start getting loud around 75-80 mph. Personally, I just turn up the radio

I drive that much all the time on my 35" MTRs.... they're fine. If you hear the hum... that just means your radio isnt loud enough!

I've been running 35" Toyo M/T's for about two years now. They hum, but nothing rediculous. No complaints.

I just smile and laugh at the guy next to me as he roles up his window when I go by at 80 . I run my 315/70/17 Firestone Destination M/T's any where from 55-75 miles a day great mud terrain tire and it has a real nice ride on the hardball. I have put over 37,000 miles on my tires and they are still not even close to being changed out!

Fierce M/Ts area awesome drive at least 25 miles daily and more on weekends wheel them and drove 3800 miles cross country with them and after 2.5 years they still run and wear perfectly . Plus they are tough enough for the off-roader and quiet enough for the DD

The Duratracs are nice, but just don't have the traction for wheeling in PA (first hand experience). The GY MTR's are loud and were better offroad, but not great (first hand experience). The Nitto Trail Graps are barely louder on road than the duratracs and in a 315/70-17, out perform my 37" GY MTRs offroad with ease. They also wear great on road. I'm ditching my MTRs in favor of 40" Nittos. Easy decision in my book. If for some crazy reason you don't like the Nittos, there would be a line of people interested in buying them off you.
