Question BB or coils for 33's

Okay so I have finally made up my mind. I have an 07 X 6 spd. w/ 3.21's

For now I dont want to regear. I have upgraded to 265/75/R16 Fierce Attitude M/T's (32" range) For estetic purposes I want to get a lift in the 2.5" - 3" range. I also want to stubby the stock frnt bumper and add a winch. I would like a kit that will be good for a daily driver but still be good off road and work later for 35" tires down the road (with a regear and some trimming).

So the questions are;
1) Why go coils over BB?
2) Will a coil lift require extra stuff?
3) Will a coil lift be better for any sag issues?
4) Which kit would be better for 33's with quick disco's?
5) Is the install work rediculously different between the two?
6) Am I on the right track? Is this where my build should be taking me?

Coil kits tend lift the front more over BB kits.
2) Will a coil lift require extra stuff?
Not really. But you might want to look at front lower adj. control arms so you can set the alignment.
3) Will a coil lift be better for any sag issues?
Factory coils tend to sag overtime when additional weight is added. (Bumpers, winch. etc)
4) Which kit would be better for 33's with quick disco's?
Price wise you can do a #1155200 Leveling kit then add the disco hardware to it.
5) Is the install work rediculously different between the two?
No.
6) Am I on the right track? Is this where my build should be taking me?
Off to a great start!

TeraFlex offers 9 different 2.5" kits and 2 different leveling kits ( one with coils/ one with spacers)

If I may, I would suggest you hit up the FAQ's.
1. Coils will give more height.
2. A coil generally speaking, will produce more then the average height advertised;therefore, if you are netting more then 2.5" of lift, your axles should be re-centered. It's not a must but its recommended. Control Arms will allow for you to adjust Casters and such.

ahh tf beat me to it

Question

It just seems like so many people are up-grading to the coil kits from their BB's what's the reason for that? Also would I lose travel or flex if I go with said leveling kit? Also would a person clear 35's down the road with a fender chop and the leveling kit?

I went cheap and got a BB. I love it, but coils would give a nicer ride for sure. I plan on adding a body lift to get up to 3" to fit 35s.

I started with a TeraFlex 2.5" BB from Northridge and it's what I would recommend here, FWIW.

It's affordable, but is very well made and should give you room to run 35s at some point down the road unless you get into big, heavy bumpers, tire carriers, winch, etc.

If you want to install a heavier bumper and winch then the coil lift will help hold up the added weight to keep it more level.....

Default Update.

Okay so I thought I would update this thread. I did end up getting the Teraflex 2.5" coil lift with the shock adapters. I also added;

1) The Teraflex monster front track bar
2) Teraflex Quick disconnects
3) The factory rubicon shocks to my X package
4) 1" Teraflex rear coil spacers.
5) Spider Trax wheel spacers.

The disco's I wanted and the track bar was too good of a deal to pass by. I am not sure to what extent the front track bar helped with handeling but if memory serves the front axle was over an inch off centre. Spider traxx were added for wheel clearance but did not try without so I am not sure if I would have needed for the tires I am running 265/75R16's on stock alloy 07 X wheels.

The kit is great and rides awesome. I have since installed the pretty much exact same setup on another local forum members Jeep. The install took us in the neighborhood of 12 hours and that was really taking our time and enjoying some adult beverages.

Here are some pictures of it on my Jeep with 265/75R16's and spider traxx wheel spacers. These are all before the other options #1-4 were added so people can see that specific kit without the add ons.
