Default Bestop Soft Door Limit Strap?

Has anyone come up with a nice idea for a limiting strap for the Bestop soft doors? My door flies open, hits my mirror and moves it every time. I can't believe they didn't think of adding something as simple as a limiting strap.
All the mounting locations I find on the door require me to cut the fabric (which I'd rather not do [yet]), don't allow the velcro to attach, etc.
I wish I could remove the fabic and weld a tab on the frame of the door.

I had the same problem. I made some limiting straps out of aircraft cable and cable clamps. I wrapped the clamps in electrical tape so no metal contacting metal or sharp edges would occur. I attached them on the frame of the door by the door adjustment bolt. I didn't have to cut the fabric but the Velcro doesn't close in that spot as good as it used to. Works great. May take a little playing around to get the length just right. below is a picture. Sorry about the quality. The weathers been so bad in CT I have put them on my Jeep yet.

You have it attached where I was trying to attach it last night, but Bestop should have put the slit in the fabric lower, because it pulls on the edges when you attach a strap there.
I was thinking about doing something like this and putting a grommet (in red) in the flap, running paracord (in gray) through it and attaching it where you have. The only issue is, I would have to hammer the grommet to close it and I'm worried I'll damage the fabric on the other side.

Your idea would make a cleaner install but you're correct, I don't see how you'd put a grommet there without damaging the outside fabric. My setup pulls on the fabric but it was a small compromise to not have my doors fly open and hit my mirrors so I live with it. Maybe there's a grommet kit that utilizes crimping pliers rather than hammering?

This is what I've been using for 2 years now it works well from Princess Auto 4 pack at 6" $2.99 in Canada.... I hook the hook end on the bottom steel frame bar just behind the fabric just peel back the Velcro ...... I also use these to hold the top part of the windows from flapping at hiway speeds.... Small hole in inside piece of extra fabric and add that steel loop/clamp?(sorry don't know name but get smallest size or a shorter then 6" bungee) then you hook the hook part on to the sun visor ....
