There's been 3 of us now that have snapped there d30. Other guys running 35" tires. They have decided to sleeve there axle now (after its broken) and weld it all up. To me that's just asking for it to fail in the worst time.
I have decided to go the core44 route to make sure I am good and solid up front. I only ru 33" tires for now but feel this is a good step towards being able to safely run 35" or larger tires after a new lift is installed at the same time.

Great info reading through the thread. I wrecked my JK a little over week ago. Need a complete front axle, insurance is paying for the stock D30, taking the money and applying towards the G2/core44. Will only cost me about 12-1500 out of pocket for this upgrade. Should be getting mine ordered tomorrow. Body shop is ordering and letting me use some gift cards and gift certificates so out of pocket will be even less. Can't wait to get it back.

Well after as much research as I could do well saving up. I have decided to pull the trigger. I ordered my g2 core 44 with Eaton e locker and 4:56 gears as well as 30 spline chromoly axle shafts.
Also coming is matching gears and locker for the rear.
Going to be a whole new beast soon. Hoping 3-4 weeks and I should be up and running.

I found a good angle for mine, and it's been problem free... but I did a drag link flip... so it mounts high, not under.
