Trimming pinch seam
A word of caution,
Jeep began trimming the pinch seams on their newer models (not sure but believe it was sometime in 2012).
I had a 2011 that still had the pinch seam.
I now have a 2013 that had the pinch seam cut by the factory.
Mhockey9090 reported that he is running larger tires and his pinch seam was cut at the factory. He drives a 2013 according to his info
JustjeepinWithYa also reported that he is running larger tires and that he has not cut his pinch seam but here again, he has a 2014 according to his info
Dallas JKU (has not filled in his basic information so not sure what year his is) states he has not trimmed either, but he joined the forum Dec 2012 so he most likely already has his trimmed from the factory.
As previously stated, it is better safe than sorry. The pinch seam can really do a number on tires. Even "smooth" roads have bumps or even just turning into an uneven driveway could cause enough "flex" to cause the pinch seam to do damage.
Good luck

I have 35x12.50-18's. A 3.5" lift. Stock control arms. Stock wheels. And my pinch seam is around 1.75" from touching the tire. And as the suspension compresses it maintains over an inch of clearance. It's a 12 and the pinch seam is NOT cut from the factory. It is a squared off chunk.
My tires true diameter is right at 34.5" after 10,000 miles of wear on the tread.
