DIY stubby antenna
Saw this somewhere and did it myself! Dremel or rotary tool made this accomplised in 5 minutes. Could do it with a hack saw and a file... but would take longer
I marked a line at 12".
Put it in a vice, cut it with dremel.
Beveled the end so the ball at the top would fit on the shorter, fatter stubby antenna.
Wiped down everything so it was clean metal.
Superglued ball on top of shorter antenna.
Did 2 coats of black spray paint.
I've gear people use bedliner spray....but I did black. Looks great.
reception is great!! Haven't lost any reception quality.
Had the dremel tool, had black spray paint, had super glue. So this mod cost me nothing! And looks great!
I'm doing it to my wife's patriot as we speak!

Might have to do this, I bought a cool looking 6 inch antenna that doesn't pick up anything out in the country where I live. Sure looks good but annoying as hell.
