why not yank that plastic off and cut down the metal underneath.... Slap some bedliner on it, put some mesh in the holes and add some D-rings or Tow Hooks. I personally think that looks more original than the plastic stubby. Not that the stubby doesn't look good though. I did it and love it, get lots of compliments as well. Kind of hard to see in my picture though

Yeah man, ya gotta chop it down for the stubby caps anyway... It may be worth taking the plastic off and cutting it down and see how ya like it! You can always put the plastic back on and cut it down and add the end caps. When I did mine, I had actually ordered and received my stubby caps, that was my original plan. I figured i'd try it without plastic first and ended up REALLY liking it! So, i sent my stubby caps back the next day! hehe

I never thought about that when I did mine.. Would have saved me the hassle of self tapping screws...
