I'm in law enforcement. It is one of those things where they will stop it hoping for something better to come out of the stop. Most officers don't really care. It's the troopers that are the vehicle hard asses.

With a Rugged Ridge bumper the crash bar (under the bumper) is visible. I bolted the plate to it with two self tapping screws. When I go wheeling I take it off. Cost me about 5 cents LOL.

I also attached mine to the crash bar using nutserts. In this picture you can see I forgot to remove it on this trip!

I use the AEV hawse fairlead license plate mount kit $25ish online. It's super clean and allows me to run the license plate either in an upper position or lower position.

I run mine in the upper position so that I can use my winch.

just toss some rubber between glass & plate to keep it from rattling

if your off road toss it on the floor
