Gonna go for it. MoTech LS conversion.
Well, I've had my JKU for 9 years now and have no plans to part with it. My biggest complaint has been lack of power. Much more apparent now that I haul a small 2,900 pound travel trailer at times. I've mulled over the different options, supercharger, Hemi, LS, and have just about decided on the MoTech LS conversion.
Got the estimate from Robbie. A bit more than I wanted to spend but I figure replacing my Jeep, set up like it is, would probably cost me $40k to $45K. Kind of makes the conversion seem like a bargain and makes my Jeep good to go for another 9 years or more.
Going to call MoTech next week to ask a couple of questions and check on scheduling. Now to figure out how to pay for it..

I did mine myself about a month ago using the Motech kit. I used an Escalade engine but my biggest recommendation is to use the car motor instead of the truck motor. Way more room and it will be easier to work on.

I also just got back from Vegas. Motech finished my conversion and it turned out awesome. Have the 5.3 with 6spd tap shift. Its a tire spinning beast now. Now that speedo is corrected on mopar side, i can drive sane for awhile and see what my mpg is gonna be.
Im rolling on 40" tires and dana 80 axles with 5.38 gears so it will be interesting. The launch is grin worthy and it holds 75 without issues now. It wouldnt do that before when jeep was new and stock.

I'm looking to do a Motech swap too in the near future. I would just like to hear from more California guys that have done it to get a better feel of the smog and compatibility and make sure there are no issues with DMV.

I'm going with the "Budget Build". 5.3 LMG engine and transmission change with HD radiator. I'm not looking for a hotrod, just better drive-ability. Otherwise I'm satisfied with how my JK is setup.
