Default Grease & Grease Gun Recommendations

I'm going to pick up some grease and a gun to add to my tools. When I looked up the Synergy Grease this comes up and shows "frequently bought together": Amazon: Synergy Grease & Lumax Grease gun bought together

Any thoughts on the grease gun or do you recommend a particular model/type?

Also, which one would you choose...Synergy Grease or Amsoil Synthetic Polymeric Off-Road Grease...or do you recommend another particular brand (specific product)?

I don't have to have the most expensive or the absolute top of the line, but I do like to buy quality. Thanks.

I have been using Lucas Red N Tacky for years, mostly just because it has the best specs of the grease tubes I find at my local autopart stores. (using a cheap grease gun from autozone, no idea how much better the one you are looking at would be)

All of my steering components are synergy, and sadly I had not paid enough attention to know that they had their own grease. Looking around, I see it for $20 on many sites, but have not found the actual specs to compare to Lucas. I will probably make the switch when this tube is gone, and hope that for the price, it outperforms the $5 red n tacky.

I'd stick with either Synergy or RCV grease. Both are extreme pressure greases designed for use in ball joints, TREs, etc. Both work very well.

As for the grease gun, I have never had one that worked well. Bought a new $25 grease gun last year and it worked well for about half a tube and then brought the suck.

Often times, the grease adapter on the end of the hose has to be held in place, and at a certain angle. Therefore, I always go for the pistol grip grease gun because it's easy to operate one handed.

Unfortunately, I have never seen a grease gun that didn't cavitate and piss me off at some point during its use.

Ssame here been using Red N Tacky for 3 years without issue. It works good and it's a 1/4 of the price... Will likely keep using. TeraFlex recommended it for their arms as well. Gone through several NAPA grease guns, they all suck and are a pain in the ass at some point.

This grease gun was popular in WWII. I highly recommend it!

It's been years, but a wonderful weapon in its simplicity.

Back on track, I like the pistol grip so I have one hand free.

I use 2 grease guns. 1st has the big tube of royal purple grease, 2nd uses the small 3oz tubes, buy a needle tip to get into those tight places.
