Default help diagnosing a clunk....

Here's my situation:

Backing into my parking spot at work, I hear a clunk right when applying the brake to stop.

I can also reproduce it when pulling forward and applying the brake to stop.

Its only happening that I can hear when going very slowly like in a parking scenario.

Its just one loud clunk almost as if something is settling back in place so to speak.

Ujoint? Checked and only minimal play on drivers side axle joint...DS joints all solid.

CA's all checked for proper torque also.

Baffled......

Still on OEM ball joints? How many miles, if so? When I changed mine it fixed a similar clunk when braking.

Ok I'm 90% sure it's the front driver's side Ujoint.

I can make a good clunk when I twist the DS and I can see some noticeable movement in the caps.

Looks like a weekend task...
