Default How High?

How much of a lift can you typically get before you need to make major changes with lines, hoses etc? Going on a 2010 Unlimited JK.

Well, obviously 4" of lift on flat ground doesn't matter. What matters is how much travel you'll have after. I have a 2.5" lift, but 13" of travel. I had to lengthen brake lines, breather hoses, and reroute abs lines.

Your rear breather will be a stretch, even on flat ground.

What size tires do you plan on? A properly set up Jeep will have its height driven by tire size. As cool as some folks think it looks, there are significant disadvantages that are not offset by the limited advantages of too much lift for tire height.

I plan on only running 33s.

You don't even need any lift to run 33s. No reason to go beyond 2.5", it just gets expensive and can create issues. Plus, 33s on that much lift will look funny.

I've got 4" of lift and that's not true. You'll be replacing at least the front DS eventually (mine made it a year after tearing the boot on my first trip out), and I'd say that's the minimum. Also, you'll need a full set of adjustable arms to get you pinion angles right to you don't wear out your new aftermarket DS prematurely.

That's all a little irrelevant if you're going to 33's though as others have said, I think no lift is the way to go. I had 35's with my 4" and just went to 37's. 33's would look like roller skates under the much lift.
