I run my exact same setup at 32 PSI. Has not exhibited any of the wear you're seeing.
I agree with others that a factor other than simply tire pressure is at play here.
If you had them aired up to 50 PSI, you'd still wear on them, but it would only be once balding patch in the center.

From your picture your tire looks all cupped. Have you checked their balance or your alignment?
As said already 30 psi is lots. Under inflated tires wear in the middle and over inflated on the outsides.

Other way around...but it does look to me at least from the pic like the outside of your tire is wearing faster than the inboard side of the tire. I think I can safely sae though that it's not possible that you wore the tires from the new spare in the back to what you are showing in only 4000 miles...did you mean 40,000?
