Hey resharp001, I just wanted to thank you for all your help. I keep going online to see what information I can find that can help me with this install and I keep coming across your advice. Either in this thread or elsewhere. Your advice is proving to be most helpful. I'm in the middle of the install starting with the driver-side backseat. All going well but it's a bit more of a bitch than I thought it would be. I'll post pics when I'm done. Thanks.

No, that plastic piece should pull up and out, but IIRC, you have to yank it really hard. The leather definitely won't stretch as much as that cloth did when you removed it from around those posts.

It's been a while since doing this, but pretty sure that you just cover that up with the leather, and then carefully cut a hole to insert the lever through. I can verify on mine, but it wouldn't be until this evening.
Can you snap a pic of the lever handle itself? trying to recall what it looks like when removed. Seems like that would have had a stud coming from the seat portion and the lever just attaches to it, rather than the lever having a male end.

Is that a solid red seat that's going on? That color is really gonna pop on your jeep. Definitely post up some final pics once complete.

Will do. I have an anvil colored JKU so I already know what the final product will look like. Think 10th anniversary Rubicon. I loved that anvil/red combo.
I figured out how to get the leather over the seat raiser lever. I tried to poke a small hole to just allow the bolt to go through but that didn't really work. The lever wasn't really catching it engaging with the mechanism. And the leather was bunching. I had to carefully trim the leather to go around the mechanism. I did a little at a time as to not make the hole to larger. I used the old seat covers as a guide but started even smaller than that hole and slowly made is larger until I could stretch it around. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures at the time. I'll take some when I do the passenger seat. Here is some pics of the trimmings.
