Default max tire size for stock jeep

Trying to find out what the max tire size is that I can put on my 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited want to use the factory 17 inch rims....also with out any modificationsClick image for larger version

You can get a 285/70 with no problems... You can also squeeze a 295 under there too if your not wheeling... But I'd go with the 285/70 it will look real good an fill out the space in you wheel well

do I need to use wheel spacers if I am going to use the stock 17'' wheels?

I think so if your going wider, they may rub.

Why not consider buying new rims and tires?

When I compared prices for 15x8 rims paired with 33x12.5 tires VS. 33x10's on stock 18" saharas... the rims and tires were 500$ cheaper!!!

Yes, you'll need spacers with 285s with stock rims.
