Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ P3 Radial 37 x 12.5 x 17
Anyone running these? I think they are relatively new and may have replaced the original baja ATZ. The tread design looks like the 37" version of the duratrac. They only weigh 80 pounds. Would love some info from anyone with experience running these tires regarding road manners, balancing issues, tread ware and sidewall toughness. Seriously considering pulling the trigger on these

They are set to replace the ATZ's and are a combo of the atz and mtz......I think that mickey also has a stz or something like that, also similar.

I'm aware of that thanks just curious if anyone had a chance to run them yet they look like a good tire and the spec look promising

I'm pretty sure I'm going to get 5 of these in 37" within a couple more months. I have about 70k on a set of BFG MT's (5-tire rotation gets you 20% more mileage in theory), I just gotta get a kid off to college and then gather the $.

The Duratrac has a highly-offset 2-6-2 tread pattern (tread block count from sidewall to sidewall) with lots of sipes - with its wider-than-typical tread voids, it's a very aggressive all-terrain. The ATZ and ATZ P3 have a typical mud-terrain tire's large tread blocks with a nearly-linear 1-2-1 tread pattern, but they've iven it narrower tread voids and a little bit of siping to make it more like an all-terrain tire.
Large tread blocks are more prone to wear unevenly and "cup" or "feather" and get noisy with sketchy handling than the smaller tread blocks of an all-terrain tire. I'd personally prefer the wide-spaced, smaller tread blocks of the Duratrac to the narrow-spaced, larger tread blocks of the ATZ P3. But if you're shopping for a 37" tire, the Duratrac is automatically off your list. There aren't many all-terrain tires available in the larger sizes - most are mud-terrain tread patterns. I'm glad to see Mickey Thompson and Dick Cepek (Fun Country) coming out with fresh tires in these larger sizes that bridge the gap between A/T's and M/T's.

They're brand-new. Anyone who might have run them by now won't have put enough miles or types of terrain under them to offer a meaningful review yet. Give it some time, or be the guinea pig and share your opinions with us!

Peterson's 4Wheel Drive magazine just had a write up about them in the new magazine. They really like them and tested them in rocks, mud, sand and DD i believe.
