My thoughts on lifts

Being thrifty doesnt pay off long term
Very thorough. I bought mine with 3.5" thrifty lift (acutally height is 4") w 35's. The selling point to the bride was "it's all done....just a few mods here and there". In the first month I've replaced most parts, added more and more to do to get it right. Although I like the look of a taller lift and bigger tires, if i were to do it all over agian I'd prob opt for a smaller lift/tire combo.

If you were to compare two Jeeps, one set up with a 4" short arm kit on 33" tires and one with a 2" lift and 37" tires with trimmed fenders the one on 37's, if properly geared, would run circles around the higher lifted Jeep. It would climb better, clear bigger rocks, be more stable in off camber situations, and would handle better on road due to the lower center of gravity. Both Jeeps would be the same height overall.

yes but you are changing way more suspension geometry pushing the axles down more than just raising it all via tires.. Also you axle will be higher off the ground for clearance.

Totally agree with that, but I'm only talking about which one has the lower center of gravity, not which one is or rides better.
