Default O2 Sensor question

My Check engine light came on. I took it in. The mechanic said that is the O2 sensor. However it went back off when he was lowering my Jeep back off the lift. I drove away it came back on(strange). So I took it to someone else, someone more I trust. They said the same thing. That it is a bad sensor. He stated that I can do one of two thing. Either he buy the parts himself or I buy the parts and have him install it. I would like to know if anybody has done this before and if so, is there a certain brand I just look at? I know this is a dumb question but I thought I would just ask.

It could very well be the sensor. It could also be a lot of other things.

What code did it set? Post it and I'll post the troubleshooting chart for that code.

I'll get that code. And I was reading that O2's sensor are pretty easy to replace.
