Rancho 9000XL Install Question
I just bought a set of Rancho 9000XL shocks and tried to install them. In the rear I discovered the metal sleeve inside the rubber bushing for the rear mount point is wider that my mounting bracket and I can't figure out how to attach it. It also appears that the diameter of the metal sleeve is greater than the hole in the mounting bracket so I can't try to take it out and reinstall it through the bracket. Any suggestions on how to get these installed?

That's weird. I got those shocks and didn't have that problem. Install went smoothly for me. Looks like u may have to cut them down to make hem work. If they are able to be pulled out, it will make it easier to cut. Or take them back for new ones. Did u order them online or buy at a shop?

prob wrong shocks model number
or they were packaged wrong? check the numbers on the shock itself make sure they were correctly packaged / double check the right # for your year model
they should slide right in

I started to try and pull them out but they gave me all kinds of trouble and I was afraid I wouldn't get it back in. The part number stamped on the side shows that it is the correct part. I had only opened one of the boxes when I ran into the problem but never opened the second. I just opened it up and the sleeve appears to be the correct size. I guess I got an anomaly. I did by them online (Amazon). I have reached out to the seller but probably won't hear back until Monday.

This same shit happened to me a couple years ago. Took a die grinder and removed the excess.
Then I took a crescent wrench with the jaws about a 1/4" apart. Widen the bracket a touch, use a soft mallet to seat the shock, bolt in place.

Call our Tech line in the AM, they will take care of you.
On the shock is a code that starts with a P, 99% they will want that, it is the production code.
That number is 734-384-7804.
