Rattling / Clinking noise while accelerating / in gear
First thread ever on the JK Forum, let's give this a shot...
My 2008 JK lifted 6 speed has developed an extremely annoying rattling/clinking noise that sounds like a lift hill for a roller coaster in a themepark (it's pretty annoying). The noise is pretty loud while accelerating in every gear, but after ~40ish you can't really hear it (might just be because soft top wind noise). It get's 3x louder though when you let off the gas and let the jeep engine break in any gear. When the clutch is engaged or when the jeep is rolling in neutral there is no noise. No noise at idle either. I tried removing my front driveshaft and that didn't stop it, also checked all heat shields and nothing is hitting the exhaust and there are no broken welds....
I may remove the rear driveshaft next I guess but before going through that I want to see what you guys have to say about this.
Thoughts anyone?
(driveshafts were both upgraded when lifted)

I would be looking at the transmission / engine... maybe an engine mount?

Broken clutch disc, clutch diaphram, throwout bearing, pilot bearing, trans input bearing or motor noise. When you depress the clutch pedal and the noise goes away, that pretty much rules out anything drivetrain related post clutch.

Bad countershaft bearing in the transmission. Mine was bad from the factory in my 2011. I didn't find it until I pulled the trans and rotated the input shaft. It felt like it had a bag of sand in it.
