Recommended AT tire anyone?

I'm a Nitto fan. As for rad, depends on your use. Mud? Trail grappler. Sand? Dune grappler. All around AT? Terra grappler. After having a variety of tires, Goodyear, Michelin, Pirelli, cooper, BFG, I will only run Nitto. I'll save the mumbo jumbo, but if you must know more, ask.

even tread wear, easy to balance, longer tread wear, stronger sidewalls, reasonable price, less flats as compared to GY, BFG & Michelin. Maybe I've just had better luck with them, but I have also taken them further than any other tire off road with less problems and failures. Even Northridge has gone Nitto as their first choice. Simply put, it's a damn good tire. I have trail grapplers now, hit the trails in Colorado a few times a month and no issues, great traction, etc. Being my add as well, I may try the terra grappler next on the jeep as there isn't much mud above 8,000'. Had terra grapplers on my land rover, no issues. A far cry from the good years that lasted 24,000 miles and the Michelin that lasted even less. The Terra Grapplers lasted nearly 60k on a heavy vehicle and no sidewall punctures or cuts. SUV or Truck? For me, Nitto only. Fewest problems, rode well, wear well, last long, good proce point. I understand they are owned by Toyo tires.

I'm getting ready to swap out tires. The size I am interested in has a limited selection, LT295/70R17. They average 33.6 in diameter and 11.5 in width (34-11.50's more or less). In that size I am leaning to two Cooper Mud treads the Cooper STT and the Mastercraft MXT (division of Cooper Tire). I am contemplating an all terrain though, the Cooper ST-MAXX, in LT295/70R17. It is an aggressive all-terrain and I have read a lot of positive reviews from other people that are into overlanding. Decisions, decisions........

I have a set of Falken WildPeaks on my F150 supercab. Have had them for a little over 2 years now. They are a good all-around AT tire, smooth and quiet on the road. With that said, put a set of Cooper AT3's on the wifes 07 JKU. I like the Coopers better than the WildPeaks.

Recommend you spend $12 for the issue and read their full, very thorough comparison test of seven popular choices. You will gain some valuable insight on tires and tire selection. The test, BTW, was run on a Jeep JKU.

I don't hear people mention procomp but I have a set of their AT tires. They are wearing great. 50,000 mile tires. They do great in the snow and I've wheeled in pretty rough areas with no problem. They are pretty quiet on the hwy. give them a shot.
