Default Removing rear headrests

Has anyone figured out how to remove the rear headrests from an Unlimited? I'd like to get them off the seat completely, not just fold them back.

Maybe one of you people with a service manual . . . ?

You have to twist and release the plastic pocket that the headrest slides into. Not real easy to do as it fits very tight. Its also easy to break the plastic if you try and force it. Trade your 4 door in for a 2 door then you can just remove the rear seat and no more headrests to worry about.

Here you go...

On the unlimited rear seat you can remove the headrest, but you cannot remove the brackets from the seat back.

And then what, you're left with the two metal prongs sticking out instead of the headrest? That's even worse! LOL!

Yep, one would think DCX didn't want you to remove the headrests...
