So there you have it. But in sum, I'm not entirely sure the 2.5 was a good idea. I should've done some more research, but I was quick on the order finger. The 2.5 is more like 3.75-4" on a 2 door, and that's a bit much for my tastes. On one hand, I sort of wish that the labeling was more direct, as I'm sure I'm not the first person to assume a 2.5 kit meant 2.5 inches (or close thereto). On the other hand, a brief research would have given me that answer. I went back and forth as to whether I should just put the 2.5 springs in, but I'd rather eat a return shipping cost now than pay for the necessary parts to complete a 3+ inch lift.

Caveat emptor! I'm going to return (or sell for $220 to a socal jeeper) my 2.5 springs. The 1.5s are in the mail for me. The 1.5 kit seems like it will be perfect.
I have the RK 2.5 springs as part of the X Factor Kit and I love them. They didnt raise my Jeep as much as you are saying but it is a bit more than 2.5". However, if you are thinking of going to 35 tires, you will need every bit of the 2.5's EXTRA lift.

Here is my before and after measurements.

Not necessarily true on needing the 2.5" to run 35" tires. There is a guy on here running the 1.5" RK coils with 35s just fine.

Default RK Triple Rate/RS9000XL Woes

The new triple rates ride amazing. I went from the last gen to this gen and dropped a small amount in the front but gained in the rear. Light weight 2 door I'm around 3.5-4"
So yes .. 2 doors with no weight are up there in height.

Exactly ... 2 doors are Closer to 2.5 anyways.
1.5, flat flares, trimmed seems, and bump stop. A 35" tire will fit fine.

Interesting, thanks for posting. Currently I'm on 35s with a 2.5" budget boost. Granted, I just ripped my fender off on my last offroad session, so I haven't quite got it dialed in yet. But I'm firmly in the camp of doing as little lift as possible. Those off camber situations I've been in which make me feel like I'm about to make a very expensive barrel roll-- I'd like to minimize those in the future.

I'm going to put in my 2" hockey puck bumpstops all around with the 1.5 springs and Xl9000 shocks. I'm hoping that will also keep fairly decent road manners for a DD. I'm curious to see what amount of lift I'll see compared to the BB, but I'll post here again when I'm done with before and after pics.

I ordered Rancho 9000XLs from 4wheelparts. They specifically called me to ask my lift height, and I said 2.5". Great, right? Nope. I check the part numbers today, and they sent my XL26s (0-2") for the front and XL30s (4") for the rear. Call them up, and no customer service on Sundays, so I'll have to try again tomorrow. Strike one.

"My favorite store, Northridge4x4, surely did it right!" I thought. I've spent thousands and thousands from their site before without any issues. I ordered the new RK triple rate coils, 2.5", from their site. Triple rate is splashed all over the page. I buy them, and after weeks of backorder, I open up the box today and set my eyes on Strike number two. The model numbers are the same (RK03300/03301), but I take a closer look and the rear coils are the old progressive style. Thank god I checked, because I feel like I got duped.

Cool story, bro-- I know. But, I wanted to remind everyone to check what you order to make sure you get what you wanted. I remember there was an issue with the triple rates before because they all use the same part numbers as their linear predecessors.

I'm pretty sure the Northridge issue isn't their fault due to the fact the springs were sent to me by some bizarre company in New York. The 4Wheelparts issue is just another reminder to do research yourself instead of assuming someone else will get it right. Regardless, had I not caught these and went forward with my install I would have bigger issues down the road. Good luck out there everyone!

Sir,

We just saw this post, out of curiosity do you have the date that you ordered these coils from Northridge?

June 20th. I was told by Northridge that you guys confirmed that those rears are in fact the triple rates after I asked them. Are those in fact the triple rates? Because I sold them to another forum member not a few hours ago and would feel mightily guilty if he got the raw end of the deal.

Yes they are triple rate. You sent us the picture and had rockkrawler confirm that they were with your picture just like you stated above..

I just now received my 1.5" springs in the mail. Can either you or anyone at Rock Krawler explain why the 1.5 springs differ so much in their unloaded appearance compared to the 2.5s? According to Rock Krawler, the triple rates have a smooth transition. Yet, their 1.5 rears have a distinct and abrupt change in the coil lengths. Either 1) there is a purposeful design difference between the 1.5 rears and the 2.5 rears, or 2) the rears I was initially sent were indeed linear. I am very interested to hear why there is a difference between the two.
