Teraflex sliders, wife wanted a step but these don't really help her much.

But made of aluminum, seem sturdy and are very light.

I got my EVOS built with more of an angle built in for a step. They offer this option at no extra charge, they are pure beef, and frame welded like sliders should be if you play in the rocks. They stick out about 4" from the body, similar to the ACE's I used to have.

The old administrator of JKF and his crew have run LOD doing some major wheeling and we haven't heard of any issues. If you had flexing into your body, I am guessing that other rails like ACE would have been destroyed!

To answer a few other questions, No you really cant and shouldn't run stock rubi rails with LOD. And frankly, you shouldn't run them with any other slider if you plan to dump your 5000 pound jeep on rocks. I've seen ACE sliders paired with Rubi rails cause body damage as the Ace sliders flexed enough into the rubi rails. Had the person not had the Rubi rails, the Ace sliders would have been fine. If you don't play on rocks, then sure, keep them on as they look good.

And as far as "saving money for lift and other mods", don't cheap out on the mods that will actually prevent major damage. Skids, sliders, etc... are way more important than things like angry eyes and, yes, even lifts. A 2" lift is not that much additional clearance...you will still be banging off stuff!
The crawling we do in Idaho must be a bit different from the crawling you do in Mass.

I don't use rubi rails. The sliders bent into my pinch seam directly. The cause is because the rear rail extends 17" past the rear of the last support leg. This gives it enough room to flex directly up if you come down on the rear of the slider (like if you slip off a rock).

I even had my rails Welded on...

I suspect the ACE would of held out better since they are supported further back, but in my opinion they look a bit cheap.

If you have another explanation to explain the pictures below besides for there rails flexing (which the guys I run with say they can see when Im on the trail).

I was considering Poison Sypider rails, but adding an extra support to the LOD sliders is a better option since I do like everything else about them.
