Default well...

DON'T shoot me, just throwing it out there...

what's the KBB on a 2011 vs a 2012 with the 3.6? If it's under the 6k that a supercharger costs... you get more HP, better MPG, better transmission (did they change that in 2012?) I know it was a new engine...

anyway, a 2012 would still be under factory warranty...

It's a bit more of a change than some bolt on parts, but $ is $...

I was fortunate enough to be able to wait for the 2012, and can verify that 3.6 + 4.11 gears, auto tranny, and my 35s (34.5) work very well for me... I'm sure some may want more get up and go from 4.56s or 4.88s, but it's night and day over my TJ on 35s... (also auto + 4.11s).

Or do what this guy said above me. I went this route because I had an 09 and KBB is less than an 11 in the same config.

I can't comment on the 12 SC my friend. My JKUR is an 09 with a 3.8. I have been keeping a close eye on SC threads though...reguardless of the brand name. It seems the 11 JK has more tuning issues due to the computer change in that last year of the 3.8, the integration with the new computer and interior. I do beleive that cruise control will not function on an 11 with a retune.

The 12 has the new interior AND new 3.6 motor...the only SC that I know has been released is RIPP. There might be others, but I've not researched since I don't have that motor platform.

If he had a 3.8, then I'd say SC all day. There is a guy at work with an 11 and I told him the same thing I'm saying here. I don't recommend taking a chance with your money and trying to SC a 2011. IIRC, I've even heard recommendations to grab a 2010 computer and plug it into a 2011 to get a retune to work. Now this was before some tuners "cracked the code" on the 2011s.

I'm not the end-all-be-all on this subject, but I've paid more attention and spoken to several people with 2011s (specifically the Sprintex brand SC). Maybe other brands work just fine with an 11...I can't say as I haven't tried it myself. I love the Sprintex SC on my 09 JK. But without a good tune, the SC sucks to have...first hand experience here.

What about the AEV SC? That should work just fine on a 2011.

I would go lift/tires every single time. A stock JK looks ridiculous unless its a Rubi and even then its pretty sad. I would like slightly more power with my '13 JKU, but I can't imagine why I would need more power. If I did more power, I would go with a Hemi probably. Even if you don't run a lot of trails, a lifted Jeep looks sweet.

Magnusson claims to be releasing their kit for the 3.6 this month.

All of the major kits use Diablo for tuning the ECU so if its an issue with 2011 computer syncing up with Diablo, then all of the kits should exhibit the same quirks...

Do the supercharger first. If you are already considering a supercharger for a stock vehicle, you are absolutely going to hate driving your Jeep once the lift and tires are done. Plus you can purchase and install lift parts in stages whenever the money is available as opposed to having to drop $5+ all at once after you've put a bunch into lift and tires.
