Suspension/Tires and what not.
Hello I am new to the JK community but been part of the YJ community for some time now. I have a 1988 highly modified YJ and have decided to return back to a daily jeep driver. As of last night I purchased my first JK(2013 Sport(Manual)). I am wanting some advice as to how high I should go and as well as what I should put under it. I was wanting to stick with a mild lift for the JK, something I can enjoy on and off road. I have done some research and found a 3 inch lift with 35’s is a good combination for JKs and I do like the look. Is this the best daily driver / weekend warrior rig? I would like to know what lift kits are recommended, what size wheels, what size tires and other modifications should be done to accomplish this goal if possible(re-gearing , Etc…). Budget not really much of an issue at the moment.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Lifts are very much a personal choice, lots of good companies out there that make great products. Come out to our meet and greet so you can see some of these rides in person.

RE: All
Thank you everyone for the warm welcome and advice. This whole life without leaf springs is getting really interesting and entertaining. I have a few questions to answer so here I go.
1.) Gears? The gears are stock 3.21. However, depending on the tire size 5.13's are most likely in the future.
2.) I will definitely have to join yall. Glad to see another jeep group in Houston and on the forum.
3.) I will be glad to provide pics as soon as it is daylight I wanted to take a picture of the YJ and the JK together.
I understand that lifts are a personal choice and some people are bias to certain companies. This is what makes us jeep people awesome in a way. Me being new to all this technology and engineering, I find my self curious to see everyone's opinions on the individuate companies that offer modern parts for modern jeeps. I am coming from a place where I have not had to worry about daily comforts or the wife driving the Jeep to work. My YJ is on 48 with a 71 383 HiPo in it(lol). So I am really want to return to a good all around trail Jeep yet staying a daily driver.
Thanks again to all of you for the quick responses and great information.

Welcome!
Have you tried taking the stock jeep out to the trails yet? Its a great starting point and soon you will realize you dont need too much lift to do challenging trails. Ive had like 3 different suspension lifts under my Jeep and finally ended up with a 3.5", of course the current system I have now is fully adjustable so i could easily go up to 5.5".

RE:
So took it out this weekend with the wife in the YJ. I agree with most of yall saying not a lot needs to be done to it. I'm half tempted to squeeze 33's under it and keep it that way for a while. However I definitely see the appeal and some need to go to 35's with a small lift.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
