Synergy Drag Link -- Wheel Won't Adjust Properly
Just installed a Synergy Drag Link for my JK. Originally I was going to flip it with the flip kit, but because the track bar bracket with the kit was much too narrow for my Teraflex track bar, and because my stock drag link is FUBAR, I put the Synergy drag link in the stock location (under the knuckle).
Everything seemed to go alright. There's no wheel wobble. However, I do have a couple problems. Though I am going to send my JK to a wheel alignment specialist, hopefully soon; in general, I am curious as to what you all think is wrong here.
Problem 1: Both boots that hold the grease came off because the springs came loose. Grease went everywhere. Anyway of putting the boots back on without having to take the drag link fully off? And, can this be a potential culprit to my steering wheel not wanting to adjust properly and stay that way?
Problem 2: As somewhat mentioned, my steering wheel will not stay aligned. In fact, No matter how tight I set the Jam nut on both ends of the drag link, whenever I turn my steering wheel and then hit a straightaway, my steering wheel no longer stays straight with the vehicle; instead, it will tilt off to the left (if I turned left) or it will tilt off to the right (if I turned right). Are the castle nuts not tight enough (50lbs)? Any suggestions here . . .
Thanks!

sorry I don't want to get off your topic but I am going to be doing the Teraflex track bar with the Synergy tie rod and drag link flip here very soon. I was wondering if you could expand on why you didn't do the flip on your drag link.

When i did my synergy flip i actually found the steering felt flighty. I can move it slighty either way and the jeep will drive straight. Its very minimal but didnt exist before the install. Ive retorqued all my nuts with no improvements. Not sure if its in the design or what. But when i turn my steering comes back straight ( not left or right )

Hmm
What's coming loose, the pinch sleeve or jam nut?
I have mine (pic) and I just helped install another Synergy drag link. I've never heard of them coming loose. Are your joints aligned properly to not bind up ?
I guess there's that small possibility it's defective.
There's a flat spot over on the pitman side of the rod. I was able to use a large crescent wench and anchor against the diff. Then lean into the jam nut. Maybe 200 plus ft lbs.
tighten that sucker as tight as possible.

Something's off. Everything was greased properly and tightened. I mean, it's a simple bolt on. Though I prefer not to go this route, tomorrow I'll be bringing my Jeep to the dealership to have one of their technicians take a look -- there's only one there I trust, being he turned his JK into quite the competitive rock crawler, so I'm sure he'll find and correct the culprit.
I'll make sure to keep people in the loop. I agree, this thing is sturdy and doesn't seem defective.
As for the tereflex trackbar not fitting in the bracket -- it was not fitting. I needed a good few extra millimeters of space to comfortably fit it; thus, I said f*** it, ignored the flip for now and have merely put the drag link in stock location. My trackbar was not going to fit. In retrospect, I should've sized the trackbar bracket with my trackbar to ensure it would fit first before going through with everything, but I assumed that would've never been an issue.
Anyway, this has been quite the stressful ordeal and I'm hoping the technician tomorrow morning will be able to fix everything. If anything, this hurts my pride. Lift kits, ball joints, driveshafts . . . I've done it all. How has this become such a PITA

You can't fully tighten the trackbar bracket until after you get the trackbar in there. And even then, it takes grease and a crowbar. It'll fit, I promise too 😜
sounds like jam but to me too.
