It is definitely an alternative. Also a nice one for keeping it indoors out of weather. But takes up a lot of room. It looks great but would not serve me well, caters to certain people. Better, thats like me saying the Teraflex is the best. It is not but was the best choice for me as yours is better for you.

For pure off-roading, an inside mounted spare is ideal, but I need the storage space.

I went with Draken tire carrier, same idea as TF but 1/2 the price and more rugged

Maybe 1/2 the price. But def. Not more rugged.

Those 2 bolts per hinge is a weak point compared to the TF pin system. Also the looks of it is not that great.

I didn't know anyone actually bought their products. I'd keep an eye on that set up. They are known for ripping off other designs and doing a shitty job at it.

the draken does look like a 1/2 assed knock off...

the TF is $$$, but it's BEEFY. you could hang a cow off this thing.

and it's been supporting my 35 just fine w/the stock 'mount' on it.

(I have the TF hinge, but use the oem mount).
