Default Teraflex HD tire carrier installed

I just installed my new Teraflex HD tire carrier last night in preparation for the 37's coming soon. If anyone is considering one of these, I would highly recommend it. Once installed, this thing is solid. I was able to sit on the tire with tail gate open(I'm 6' and 195lbs.)!

One of the best mods I did on my jeep.... Very solid piece.... I was running my 35 on the stock carrier and it was bouncing around everywhere.... Much better with the hinged carrier and pretty easy install compared to other carriers....

Cant wait for my 33s to wear out that way I "need" to get one of these to handle a 35.

Will I need the hinge and the mount for a 35" Toyo Open Country(~85lbs with the wheel)? Or can I just get the teraflex hinge and use the stock mount?

Looks good by the way.

I'm pretty sure TF recommends you use the mount, too, if you're going with 35s or larger.

Just installed mine as well. It's very solid. I wouldn't run the stock carrier. It appears to be made of pot metal and weighs almost nothing. It will also keep a wheel with low back space from even contacting the factory snubbers. The Terraflex carrier allows you to pull the wheel in tight to the gate. Nothing to rattle.

You can use the stock carrier.

No issues running a 35 with the TF Hinge and stock carrier, and I have even had a 37 on it for two months now. (Not sure if the TF carriers were backordered, but it took about 6 weeks to get here. It'll be nice to get the 37 moved up some.)
