Thanks for all the advice. I've decided on the Teraflex 2.5 lift. I will slowly get the bumpers.

Teraflex is a good kit and they are no hassles with their warranty (ask me how I know). The ride is very nice and ORW offers a pretty sweet deal for Forum members or if you find it anywhere cheaper I will meet it and beat it. If you would like, shoot me a PM and I will tell you pricing.

The very first thing we did to our '09 was re-gear. Best mod you can do with the 3.8.

What did you regear your JK to and how much did it cost you?

Pardon my ignorance, but when regearing do you do the front and the rear?

Yes, you need the same gears in both ends. Unless you have a 2wd. Or you don't care about being able to use 4wd.

Costs vary wildly by area, and even by shop in the same area. You will find people talking about $1000 regears, and others complaining about paying over $3000. What it comes down to is that it doesn't matter a bit what someone on a different side of the country paid, you need to check your local shops to see what your local rates are.

Yes costs vary everywhere. We paid right around $1800 five years ago.

Okay I will be putting a teraflex 2.5 lift on my 09 JK tomorrow morning.

Should I expect any surprises?

No surprises. I installed my tf 2.5 lift on my 09 4dr, and there were no hang ups... You should be OK...

One question, do you have wheel spacers or aftermarket wheels? TF kit will rub on the tires or rims... Learned that the hard way.... At any rate, read over the instructions a few times before you begin the install...
