Question Upgrading my wheels, info please

Hey there folks, I have a stock 2011 Jeep wrangler. I am wanting to change wheels to something cooler, my question is what size wheels work with a stock setup? Info, advice, and anything else would be great thx!

Cheers

95% of people go with 17" (most are 8.5"-9" wide). You could go 18" or even 20", it just gets more expensive and provides less options (and you'll take some crap for rolling 20s).

You can squeeze a few 15" wheels on, but in my view, there are too many drawbacks. People do it because the wheels and tires are cheaper in a 15" wheel.

The other thing to keep an eye on as you narrow wheels down is the back space. Basically, it measures how far the wheel will stick out. If you plan to run larger tires, you want less back space, which will provide additional tire clearance. Stock is something like 6.25" or 6.5". Most common wheel upgrade is to a 4.5" back space. That works great for up to 35" tires. If you plan to go 37", 3.5" is best.

Those all work. I agree about the black on black. Gun metal or a brushed alloy would look good. Not a fan of polished as it looks like chrome.

This won't help much, but here are a couple pics of wheels I've had. First were machined aluminum and the second were a black center and machined aluminum bead lock ring.

37" MTRs and exactly 2.5" of lift using the factory measurement method. The MetalCloak Overline fenders up front sit about 2" higher than a standard flat fender. Gives the illusion of more lift (the function is 2" more uptravel).

Bad picture, but here it is with 40s and 4" of lift. Only reason for the additional lift is that I'm running 16" travel ORIs and to get 6"-7" up, I needed that much lift. My axle almost hits the frame at compression.

I think I am going to have to look into those fenders and that is the tire I was planning on next I like that set up a lot. I have 35's and an RK lift and stock bumps, my tires barely touch the shittybilt fenders and the shock is within 1/2" to bottomed out so maybe those fender I will would ok with stock bump or maybe 1" added bump at the most.

I ran the 6pak shocks and 2" bumps front and rear. Was perfect. Sorry to the OP for the derail.
