The flaps don't lay down they are in a fixed position.

As far as the position goes, It is over some of the electrical stuff on the passenger side but not on the drivers side. I took it out wheeling this weekend and I could tell a huge difference in power due to the reduced heat saturation under the hood.

As far as being over the air box, I have a supercharger and the vent is right behind the intake for that so it draws cool air over it. The filter for the SC sits in about the same position as my CAI I had before.

Here are a few more pictures. Somebody wanted a top down pic. I also took some from under the hood looking through.

That does sound pretty dumb! I can tell a difference though. I think it's mainly because the intercooler is actually able to cool the air at slower speeds. Before the vents, when I would feel both tubes (intake and exhaust on the intercooler) would get scalding hot with barely a noticeable difference in temp. This past weekend, the exhaust tube on the intercooler was staying cool to the touch in 100+ deg heat. The jeep also felt like it was running stronger too...

Now I grant you they definitely didn't add 40hp per vent but maybe 30hp or so... Ha ha ha

If I wanted a full 40, I would probably have to go to walmart and pick up some chrome vents with adhesive on the back then stick them randomly and stupidly all over my jeep!

You should pull out your fender liners too. Those stupid things hold in a lot of engine heat. Even with the PSC hood louver covering my whole hood, fender liners removed, and no supercharger adding more heat, it is still hot as hell under my hood.

Got one in then accidentally ran over the other one, needless to say I was disappointed in myself.
