What are you guys doing with "crash bar"

It's "weakness" is intentional, it absorbs some of the blow -- and that's true for a lifted Jeep as well.

I have heard it called a "Blocker Bar" (I think from the dealer tech's)
On a Rubicon your very expensive stupid hanging in the way sway bar disconnect is right there to. No way I was going to cut off this bar.
It looked like it was part of the frame to me and the last thing I wanted was a weaker frame.
So after getting new bumpers and seeing this thing hanging down, I decided to fab up a skid that would attach to the bumper, carry the same line all the way down and then go under the blocker bar.
My bumper and skid plate are bolted together, and then bolted to the blocker bar. It will take one hell of a hit and more than likely just allow me to ride up on the obstacle. Already wacked a few rocks and a small tree stump with it.
Yeah I know my front diff. is under there but. Still thinking about some kind of diff. armor and or skid plate for that.
Sorry about the photos being kind of dark.

Crossmembers are frame supports. It's not a frame support. Call BS on me if you want, but I wheel with the Chrysler engineer that designed the frame. It's there for a reason, but not to add structural support to the frame.
