I just wanted to see if anyone knew if the below wheel and tire combination will def. work for my jeep without causing any problems such as rubbing on the calipers.

2 door
Automatic

Wheel:
Cragar Series 342 "d" window
16x8
5x5 bolt
5 backspacing

Should be okay with brakes. Only becomes an issue with 15" rims.

If you have stock suspension and flares you will rub if you go offroad.

Sent from some string and a few tin cans.

It may not bother you but the selection on 16" off road tires is pretty small especially in 35s and bigger. I had a set on another vehicle and every tire store had to special order them to get them. They always said no one runs 16s these days. Had I gotten 35 12.50 17, 18, or 20s they were always in stock and more selection. I do understand the cost factor just letting you know my experience.

Couple considerations with 16" rims (which I run):

1) Some aftermarket tie rods are a very tight fit. I run Currie and it scrapes off the wheel balance weights if placed where tire shops like to place them. I just tell them where to not put weights.

2) A big brake kit will not fit.

I really like them with 35" Duratracs.

I am going almost the same route with my 2014 2 door. 315/75/16 tires on D windows with 4" backspacing. They go on Wednesday and then I am gonna figure out lift or flatties for clearance for off road use. Then hope to re-gear in the near future lol.

I run the same set-up. 16X8 blackrock dune 941 with 5" BS. I have 305/70/16 General Grabber AT2s. No problem what so ever. I don't know what size tires you have on it now so I can't say how they will effect your gearing with the auto. I have a stick and 3.73 gears. Click image for larger version
