New Member - 2008 2Dr JK Rubicon
I've been a reader of the Forum for a long time, but didn't officially join until now. I have a 2008 2DR JK Rubicon that I bought used with no mods and have started adding things along the way. First up was a Warn Elite Front bumper (still need a winch), then a 2.5" Teraflex lift and 35" Mickey Thompson MTZ with Procomp wheels. I initially bought spacers and thought I would use the stock rims, but decided against it after finding a great deal on wheels. Other than being left with 4 new spacers in the box and some Rubicon wheels to sell, it was a smooth install and I like the ride quality (special thanks to Keith and Gabriel at "The Jeep Shop" for double checking my handy work on the lift install). Getting the Teraflex Monster Trackbar seemed to help a lot, as did the new Rancho steering stabilizer. I kept the stock Rubicon shocks since they only had 15K miles on them, but I hope to switch them out soon. The only negative experience I've had so far is crushing one of the mounts for the MOPAR side steps on a rock at Rausch Creek a few weeks ago. Now I'm in the market for some real sliders. Anyway, that's the quick story on me. Looking forward to learning more through the forums as I go along this new Jeep adventure.
