New from Montreal, Canada
Hi all,
This is my first post. I just sold my car to get a Jeep.
My previous vehicles were:
1991 Honda Accord
2003 Acura 3.2 TL-S A-Spec
2012 Mercedes C250 4Matic
I joined this forum a while back to find out what actual owners have to say about their rigs.
I'm up to speed with the Sway bar issue.
The (occasional) leaky tops.
The not so good gas mileage, even thought I'm used to it with my Merc.
The only trim in interested in is the Rubicon.
I specifically want it for the lockers and 4.10 ratio. I will be going up north in the winter and the roads aren't always cleared.
The crawling ratio is for occasional off-roading.
The Jeep will be used to pull a trailer, go camping and lug mountain bikes and kayaks.
I'm going to be sticking around to learn more. I usually keep my cars about 4 years, I'm hoping to have this Jeep for the next 5 at least. I understand maintenance isn't that expensive. I'm looking at either new or a few years old. (2012+) If there's anything I should know when I go looking for my first Jeep, let me know.
Good to meet you all,
James

Welcome to the forum James. Obviously look at paint and frame for signs of damage. I've always bought used vehicles ( from dealerships) but make sure you have at least a 1 yr warranty just as a precaution to any major issues that may come up. I'd recommend some Goodyear duratracs which are winter rated and can be used year round. I'm on my second set and wouldn't run on any other and not having to swap tires come winter is a plus. Good luck and hope to see you around Montreal
