Default April 18th - Casual day run in the Sierras back-country

I am hosting a basic back country run that includes trails and roads up Hwy 50.

We are meeting at Freshpond Chevron between 830 and 9AM on Saturday the 18th.
The address is 7720 US-50, Pollock Pines, CA 95726

We are leaving for a day run at 9AM, and should be back in the later afternoon.
The trails we are running include paved roads, logging roads, skidder trails, and some back trails. Nothing is particularly difficult or challenging.
The only vehicle requirements for this run are to bring a recovery strap.
Even completely stock 4wd jeeps are allowed on this run, so there will likely be some people who are new to off-roading.
This biggest challenge I foresee will be if we come across snow.

It should be fun and everyone is welcome! Just let me know if you're interested.

I might be setting up a run down south but if it bombs, I'd be interested in checking this one out.

Sounds good. Just let me know.

This is a good run for stock rigs, or for people curious about trails between HWY50 and Mormon Immigrant Trail.

If we hit snow, it could be even more fun! It will also be just a fun hanging out event with a good size group. I think I'm up to 8-10 rigs already.

Howdy. Just found this group! I'm in wine country and a new owner of a Jeep Rubicon. Have some fun plans for it. Not new to off-roading though.

Question about this day trip. I would have my 2 young boys (5 & 3yr) with me and was looking to take them out camping that weekend. I think it would be fun to join you guys for the day run but then at the end of the day I'd like to stay and camp with the kids someplace. Where would you recommend near there? Is there anything even open this time of year? Would it be too cold/snowy anyways in that area for camping? Appreciate any help.

Cheers!

Since only 4wd and a recovery strap are all you need to make this run, kids are more than welcome!

Depending on where we end up, there are plenty of camping options. I'd check the el dorado national forest campsite status on their website. If we can make it all the way across, we will end up near sly park in pollock pines.
