Was that your first time through Sam? Any pics? What were the issues if you don't mind sharing.

Yeah, my first time through. The TJ broke a rear R&P and control arm mount.

We were there a while. Probably 3 hrs, waiting. We aired up at about 1030.
Good thing I sent you two out.

The TJ turned out to have lots of problems.

He arrived late, and never aired down.
He had a heavy foot, rather than finessing it.
He broke a front upper control arm bracket
His locker stopped working, and he had only one.
He over heated
His rear diff leaked and he didn't carry extra fluid
His rear end broke so ultimately he was FWD open only.

I'm trying to put together a fordyce run on oct 1. First time on this trail any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

We will be day tripping Fordyce next week.

In fact two of us will leave Fordyce and run the Rubicon too, so it will be a Fordicon day trip (hopefully). On the last trip, my rear locker was cutting in and out so i got that fixed prior to this trail.

you can run the entire Rubicon without any lockers.

This trail will require at least a rear locker, likely both of them. Don't allow people without lockers to run this trail in your group. it will be very slow going. Also, there are exremely deep water crossings. One thing i note on this forum is that most people show up to runs with me without any doors. This works for most trails. You will flood your jeep on Fordyce without doors, even choosing the shallowest lines.

I ran this trail on 37s with 6" of lift and had water go over my hood, and I was not taking the deepest water crossing lines. Later in the year will have lower water levels. Earlier in the day will have lower water levels. If you get out on the trail and turn around in the afternoon, the water crossings could be 30-50% deeper.

The trail is essentially all up hill, which makes driving easier. JKUs will have an easier time on the winch hills than JKs but JKs will have easier times in the rock gardens. Stock width rigs will be able to squeeze through one winchill sleuce that wider rigs will need to go around. Only 2 winch hills are really challenging. the trail is about 9 miles long in total.
