Any difference Platinum P-1 Size 34 and Platnum P4 Size 34/78DT
 

Any difference between the DieHard Platinum P-1 Group Size 34 and Platnum P-4 Group Size 34/78DT beside the dual terminals on the latter? Both state 880 CCA and 135 minutes reserve capacity.

The P-1 has a height of 7 4/5" width of 6 4/5" and a length of 10 9/10".
The p-4 has a height of 7 4/5" width of 7 1/10" and lenght of 10 9/10".

Either should fit in the JK.

Saw your post in that thread right after submitting my post. Judging by the dimensions you supplied it appears the 3/10" difference in width accounts for the side terminals. I was thinking of using the side terminals to power a new fuse / relay block used strictly for accessories but looking over the reviews on the Sear's site it looks like they may be a weak leak. There were a lot of complaints about the side terminals failing. One or the other side terminal would fail but the battery if tested through the post would test good. Very few complaints about the battery itself just the serviceability of the side terminals on the P-4 Group Size 34/78DT. Indeed the P-1 Group Size 34 carries a higher customer rating and it appears it is due to the lack of side terminals.

Yea I agree with the side terminals. They are a good thing to have if you're running some aux equipment such as extra lighting or a mid range power amplifier, and should not be used for heavy duty equipment since the terminals are only about 5/16". The key to good battery connections is a tight fit. Some have cranked down on the side terminals and cracked them internally. Although the AGM battery will not leak, having a loose connection or one that has a crack is a sure sign you'll get a heat build up which could result in premature failure.
