Lumbar Support for OEM Seat

Does anyone know what is the best way to remove the stock seat cover. It looks like it will come off fairly easily.

I want to add an inflatable lumbar support to the drivers seat. Basically, I want to unhook the seat cover from the front on the upright section to insert the bladder.

Any thoughts?

My only thought is to be careful dont the seats have airbags in them? I thought my manual said I couldnt add aftermarket seat covers beacause of side impact airbags. Im a nebie so not sure.

Only the seats that have airbags in them have airbags in them. :D

(It's not standard, it's an option)

I ordered the lumbar insert at: http://www.sportsimportsltd.com/inseluinairc.html

I wish the JK came with an inflatable lumbar..

Anyway, I am going to take the seat apart this weekend and put it in. I'll post some pics of the procedure.

I got off my ass this weekend and installed the lumbar support. I removed the seat, however I discovered that you dont need to that to do this mod.

Just recline the seat and grab a small bladed standard screwdriver.
At the bottom of the seat upright you will see a plastic piece that runs across the width of the seat. This is a large plastic hook fastener. Push on the plastic on the far side of the seat with your finger so that only the hidden from view fastener moves. Now on your side insert the blade of the screw driver and seperate the two pieces of plastic while pushing on it from the bottom with your finger. Once they are seperated then run your finger down the length and the front will seperate from the back.

Position the bladder where you think it will be most comfortable and run the tube out the side on the drivers door side.

Attach the ball and test it out before you reattach the plastic hook fastener.

Basically, just hook it together to reinstall it.
