Which axle is better

larger ring & pinion, bigger/stronger axle tubes, larger/stronger axle shafts(if you get the later model 29 spline version). all around a MUCH better axle.

Damn cause I got a dana 35

Shouldn't be too hard to find an 8.25 take out somewhere. at least it's not around these parts. It's a direct bolt-in. It is about 3/4" longer front to back, but if you're lifted at all it shouldn't matter. You will lose your abs though(if you have it, and if you care).

Go with an 8.8 swap... Axle bracket kits are available and it’s much stronger then the 8.25 and Turdy-5

My buddy did an 8.8 swap from an explorer. I helped for a couple days and it was relatively painless.

Do need brakes, lines, fittings, couple cans of finish, fluids, welder, brackets came from MORE if I remember correctly with perches and a new yoke.

Now he has got all new bearings, seals, detroit locker, and shafts on the way. So jealous
