d44 vs d60
 

i dont understand some people want to beef up there dana 44 axle then some want to buy a dana 60?? which is better?

d60 for those heavier duty/larger tires.

I just wish Jeeps would come with TRUE 44's :naw:

What is it that you are looking for your rig to confidently conquer? Once you have figured that out, then build accordingly. D60 is not better than D44, it's too subjective to ask "which is better?" It is definitely stronger, but you may not necessarily need that much overkill in parts for what you do with your vehicle. I need the overbuilt strength of all the parts I have chosen for the type of wheeling I do. There you go mulletmanjeeper, you have opened the proverbial can of worms.

ok i getch you. i go mudding or trails about twice a month and its a dd for school but i would knida like to run 37s or 40s.

I would look at the Dynatrac Pro Rock 44, probably more than enough for what you are needing up front since that is where most of the axle strength and reliability problems are with JK's. I go wheeling with a friend who runs the PR44 and 37" KM2's, and that thing is almost identical to my Dynatrac PR60's. There was also a JK (I believe the Falken Tres JK) that ran the entire "JK Experience" on a PR44 with 37"s without any issues, and that event is a true test of an Offroad rig.
