Pinewood Derby Jeep

Just thought I would share some pictures of my son's Pinewood Derby car for this year.
I thought because it would be slow so I did not really do anything to it for speed but he ended up in 4th place and only 0.2 seconds slower than 3rd place over 6 races combined. Super cool! I've been a Scout leader for many years, now, and currently work primarily with the adults (training, etc). However, I also photograph events for my local area, and one of my favorites is Pinewood Derby.

Although it goes back and forth on whether the kits are available or not, I'm pretty sure I have somewhere on my hard drive the instructions for how to build one pretty much from scratch. If interested, PM me an e-mail address. It does take a special track (with a longer starting gate) if you're going to race the big rig. But, they are still impressive just for show.
