I did not sand mine. I did wipe the inside down with a wet rag first to get any dust or any dirt, then went back and wiped again using alcohol to get any greases that I couldn't see. Then I used 3 cans of flat black paint and then went over that with 3 cans of dupicolor. The dupicolor was more expensive than the paint and once you have the black base coat, you don't need to completely coat everything 1/8 thick with bedliner.
You could probably do the whole thing with 4 cans of spray paint meant for plastic if you wanted. It wouldn't be as rough to the touch. |
Can someone that has bedlined the inside of their hard top tell me how it holds up to having the toggle clamps loosened and fastened over time? Thanks.

I scuffed mine up a little with a pad and then just used normal spray paint. Its been on now for about 4 months and the only places its coming off is where its rubbed when I take the freedom top off. I did take all the additional hardware off while painting.
Super easy and if you havent done this yet youre missing out. It makes it look 1 billion x better on the inside. Everyone comments on it. |
Thank you. I will have to do it when I get my JK. Did u use just black matte spray paint?

I used the Bedliner in a can. I used about 4 cans
